Rubio started his professional career in Spain and gained international recognition at a young age. He was selected with the fifth overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Rubio played several seasons for the Timberwolves before being traded to the Utah Jazz in 2017. After spending two seasons with the Jazz, he joined the Phoenix Suns in 2019 and later joined the Cavaliers in 2021. Known for his exceptional passing and court vision, Rubio is considered one of the top point guards in the league.
